Mr. Raymond Wan, Chief Senior Director, Investment at Savills Hong Kong said, “The Development Bureau, in collaboration with the Education Bureau, will launch a pilot scheme to facilitate the conversion of hotels into student dormitories by relaxing restrictions on the repurposing of commercial properties. The market has responded enthusiastically to this initiative. This Property stands to benefit from this policy, as its hardware facilities and supporting infrastructure are specifically tailored for young students, making it highly suitable for conversion into student dormitories. This will save buyers significant time and costs associated with renovation or refurbishment, and is expected to attract strong interest from a wide range of investors, institutions, operators, and private equity funds.”
