Hong Kong – 1 Jul 2021 In the 2021 Honours List published by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) today, Dr Johnnie C K Chan, Chief Executive Officer of Savills Services Group, is awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) in recognition of his dedicated service to the Government and the Hong Kong community, particularly his remarkable contribution towards the Auxiliary Medical Service as well as his support for the collaboration between the business community and the Government.
A veteran of the housing and real estate services, Dr Chan has served at the helm of Savills Services Group since his joining in January 2012, leading the development and management of property projects in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau. Throughout the years, he has been actively involved in numerous professional affiliations and served on more than 40 Government Boards and Committees, holding positions such as the President of The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies (HKAPMC), the President of The Hong Kong Institute of Housing, a member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Housing Authority Building Committee as well as a member of the Commercial Properties Committee, to name but a few.
Dr Chan is particularly dedicated to community healthcare services and has made major contributions to the development of the Auxiliary Medical Service for more than four decades. In addition, during the epidemic he mobilised community support for free community testing for frontline property management workers in his capacity as the President of the HKAPMC, promoted the “Anti-epidemic Support Scheme for Property Management Sector” and committed to creating 3,000 new jobs in the property management sector under the Government’s “Job Creation Scheme”.
The Government’s award citation also mentions, “As a prominent figure in the property management industry, Dr CHAN has provided wise counsel to the Government and the Property Management Services Authority on the licensing regime for property management services.”

Dr Chan expressed gratitude to the Government for the recognition, which is preceded by the award of Governor’s Commendation for Community Service in 1993, Justice of the Peace appointment in 2008 and the award of the Bronze Bauhinia Star medal in 2012. “It is an honour to be able to serve the community of Hong Kong, the place I call home. I would also like to thank the Savills network, all business partners and friends in the community for their unwavering support, which have helped make a lot of meaningful community initiatives a reality,” he said.
