Every year, Savills V Team celebrates the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival in a meaningful way. This year, Savills V Team joined hands with the Savills Environmental Team for the first time to spend a morning with the elderly at the Y.W.C.A. Ming Yue District Bleerly Community Centre in Sai Wan Ho on 30 August (Saturday). Over 20 staff members attended the event as volunteers.
Catherine Wong and Johnson Young, Directors of Savills Property Management Limited (SPML), who represent Savills V Team and Savills Environmental Team respectively, kicked off the event by greeting all the participants. They also announced that all the canned food which was given to the participants as presents was donated by owners who live in buildings managed by SPML. This is in line with one of our corporate green projects in food saving.
The volunteers prepared a couple of fun games, including one which required the participants to tear a moon from a yellow sheet of paper. Those who could hand in the “roundest” moons were awarded prizes. In between games, a musical performance was arranged by two residents, one was music teacher at the centre. All the participants enjoyed the performance, clapping and singing along to the music.
Raymond Lee, CEO of Greater China, Savills, who always supports his colleagues in joining charitable events, said, “we are happy and blessed to commit ourselves to the community through spending time with those in need. This time in particular, the above event has been added with ‘green’ element – meaning we put saving food in practice. We hope that through this kind of event, we can have a positive, meaningful impact on our community.”
