To promote a green lifestyle, and in particular, a green diet, Savills Hong Kong and NGO Green Monday co-operated for the first time, organising a corporate Green Monday lunch on 4 June 2012.
On that day, David Yeung, co-founder of Green Monday, Vivian Cheng, a representative from Caffe Habitu, Peter Yuen, Deputy Managing Director of Savills Hong Kong, and approximately 50 colleagues gathered for the event. The lunch, provided by Caffe Habitu, aims to encourage people to take baby steps to “Go Green” with a meatless diet.
Peter Yuen, Deputy Managing Director of Savills said, “We are delighted to co-operate with Green Monday and Caffe Habitu for this first Green Lunch. On the one hand, this can be seen as a bonding exercise, and on the other hand, this will encourage people to eat less meat by going meatless once a week, in order to stay healthy and reduce their carbon footprint.”
David Yeung, co-founder of Green Monday, said “We usually eat more than we should over the weekend and so Monday is the best day to go green to off-set the excessive food intake. It’s all about small steps, starting with just one day a week.”
