Savills (Hong Kong) Limited, Savills Property Management Limited, and Savills Guardian have been awarded the Caring Company logo 2010/11 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of their community involvement and commitment as corporate citizens in the past year.

Savills (Hong Kong) Limited, Savills Property Management Limited, and Savills Guardian have been awarded the Caring Company logo 2010/11 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of their community involvement and commitment as corporate citizens in the past year.

The Caring Company Recognition Ceremony 2010/11 was held today at the Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kowloon Bay.  Representing Savills Hong Kong in receiving the award were Mr Nick Bradstreet, Deputy Managing Director and Ms Irene Huang, Associate Director of Corporate Development. Mr Kendrew Leung, Managing Director and Mr Dick Kwok, Director, represented Savills Property Management.  They took the opportunity to thank their nominator represented by the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association.  Savills Guardian Group was represented by Mr Vincent Lo, Senior Executive Director, to receive the award.

“We are delighted to receive this award,” Nick said. “It is particularly special as this is the third time we have been awarded the Caring Company logo.”  Last year, Savills Hong Kong participated in the Central Rat Race, a charity relay event which raises funds for Mindset, a charity supporting mental health organisations.  The company also participated in the annual rugby tournament “Professions Sevens,” which helps to support a number of charities. The well-deserving beneficiaries last year included The Hong Kong Cancer Fund, China Coast Community, Fu Hong Society, Enlighten Hong Kong and Riding for the Disabled Association Limited and thanks goes to all the supporting firms that took part and their friends, clients and families that came to watch the event.

Kendrew Leung noted that this is the fifth consecutive year for Savills Property Management to receive the Caring Company recognition award.  The volunteering team, or as we called it the ‘V Team,’ consisting of around 60 colleagues including frontline and office staff, was established in 2007 to fulfil the company’s community and social responsibilities and has been active ever since, with the elderly and orphanages as target beneficiaries.  The company has collaborated with the Boys’ & Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong to organise programmes for the children living below the poverty line, and from May to June 2010 private tutorial sessions were provided to primary students to help with their studies. Acting as big brothers and sisters, volunteers of SPML participated in a sponsored all-day outward bound fieldtrip for 30 children in September 2010.  The company has also joined with its old partner, Redford Charitable Foundation, to distribute rice and dumplings to elderly people living in Sha Tin public housing estates.  It is hoped that such events will help the elderly feel that the community really does care for them.

Peter Ho, Managing Director of Savills Guardian Group, said that they are honoured to have been nominated by Chun Tok School and CTU Education Foundation Limited and to make a dedicated contributed to the community. It is the eighth consecutive year that the company have been awarded the recognition.

Savills Hong Kong is proud to be active in the community and involved with charitable endeavours.  Since 2006, the company has sponsored staff members to participate in the annual Standard Chartered Marathon and the number of staff members joining the race keeps on growing every year.  In October this year, the company will also participate in the Sedan Chair Charities Fund.
