Savills Adds High-Profile Hire in Orange County

20 May 2019

Savills has added JP Roach as a senior managing director in the firm’s Orange County office. Roach brings multiple areas of expertise to his exclusive focus on representing commercial office and industrial tenants throughout the region.

Roach specializes in complex lease transactions for clients across a variety of industry sectors, including technology, medical device and business services. He is an expert in tenant representation, strategic planning, site selection, financial analysis and the negotiation and structuring of lease relocations, expansions and renewals, build-to-suit developments and property acquisitions.

Roach’s dual background in real estate and law provides him with a unique perspective that translates into steadfast advocacy on behalf of his clients.

“Savills is clearly the preeminent name in Orange County’s tenant representation space,” said Roach. “The firm has significant reach here, as well as a wealth of resources and capabilities around the globe. This expanded capacity, along with the firm’s defined corporate culture and strategic focus on the users of commercial space, is a compelling combination. I see this as an exceptional opportunity to better serve clients nationally and internationally.”

Roach was a senior vice president in Hughes Marino’s Orange County office, which opened in 2013. He joined the firm as a broker and associate general counsel in its San Diego headquarters. Before that, Roach worked as an attorney at several respected litigation firms. He is a member of the California State Bar.

Roach graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and Point Loma Nazarene University with a dual J.D./MBA degree. He completed his bachelor’s in business economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

“JP is a highly regarded tenant advisor. He’s done an impressive job of capturing market share in a relatively short period of time,” said Royce Sharf, Savills executive vice president and branch manager. “I respected JP as a competitor, and I look forward to working with him as a colleague. His entrepreneurial nature and client-first focus are a great fit for our firm.”

Savills Orange County office opened in 1989. With its 2017 acquisition of Cresa, which previously absorbed Travers Realty and The Staubach Company, Savills is the premier tenant-focused firm in Orange County.
