The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, Macao

The brief
Savills was appointed sole leasing agent and consultant and commenced marketing November 2005, with the main leasing activities being focused over 2006. Our challenge was to lease a greenfield site in a city with a relatively young retail market.

Our solution
The Savills team led by Nick Bradstreet, held more than 1,000 meetings in total. We conducted road shows in Singapore, China and Thailand and also visited Milan, Italy in an effort to source key retailers. Members of the team flew to over nine countries around the world to market the project and hold seminars and meetings. A charter flight was also arranged for representatives of various international brands to experience the grandeur and elegance of The Venetian Las Vegas. This monumental effort proved effective in winning each retailer’s vote of confidence, as the majority of them are now tenants.

How we added value
The Savills team successfully secured many international brands to The Venetian Macao with full occupancy at the 350 shop spaces in the Grand Canal Shoppes. Tenants include the Swatch Group: representing Omega, Blancpain, Glashutte Original, and Rado; opened their flagship stores in the hotel mall. Other brands include: Zara, Hugo Boss, I.T, Links of London, Furla, Just Cavali, Tiffany, Montblanc, Bvlgari, Mikimoto, Chopard, Coach, and many popular restaurants.
