Comprising six shopping centres, seven supermarkets and two residential block developments with a total gross floor area of 235,000 sq ft located across Hong Kong. The client is a leading retailer in Asia, owning and operating the Wellcome supermarket chain.

Savills was appointed as facility manager in January 2008 and the contract has been extended in January 2012 for a further 2 years.

Our solution
Implementing proven facilities management techniques in the critical areas of (1) tenant services focusing on improving landlord-tenant relationships using complementary CRM software which lead to an improvement in occupancy levels and rental returns, (2) skilled project management: during shopping centre renovations, we minimised interruptions to operating hours. Our planned approach to maintenance resulted in a decreased failure rate and the cost of replacing faulty parts was reduced. We also maintained a commitment to on-going staff training, for example on health and safety issues.
How we added value
Customer satisfaction improved dramatically as a result of our dedication to change, with positive feedback from both supermarket customers and tenants. The client is very encouraged by our cost saving achievements in both regular and planned maintenance.
